From Basement Scribbles to Brand Stories
I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, where my first “office” was the basement and my first “computer” was an old desktop Mac. I’d spend hours writing — stories, half-finished ideas, even the occasional angsty teenage journal entry — and yes, sneaking in a few rounds of Snake (90s babies know).
Back then, I didn’t realize it, but I was already doing the thing I’d spend my career chasing: finding the right words. Words that made people laugh, think, or lean in a little closer.
Fast forward, I’ve gone from that basement writer to creating work for companies big and small, across many industries and audiences. I’ve written for global organizations, national franchises, and scrappy startups — each time learning how words can build something bigger than themselves: a brand, a movement, a connection.
Like the brands I work with, I’ve evolved. From pure copywriter to strategist. From execution to big-picture thinking. From “just words” to the stories that carry a brand forward.
But some things never change: I’m still that kid who believes words matter, who believes the right line at the right time can make someone feel something. And that belief is what drives me every single day.
